RAM SETU MADE BY RAगवान राम का सु्ग्रीव से मित्रता होने के बाद हनुमान जी वानरों की टोली लेकर सीता की खोज में चल पड़े। जब पता चल गया कि सीता को लंका का राजा रावण हरण करके ले गया है तो सबसे बड़ी चुनौती थी। वानर सेना को लेकर 1500 किलोमीटर लंबे समुद्र को किस तरह पार किया जाए।

बहुत सोच विचार करने के बाद यह तय हुआ कि समुद्र पर पुल बनाया जाए। बाल्मिकी रामायण के अनुसार भगवान राम ने सबसे पहले सागर का निरिक्षण किया की किस स्थान से पुल बनाना आसान होगा। इसके बाद पुल का निर्माण कार्य आरंभ हुआ।

लेकिन परेशानी यह आई कि जो भी पत्थर समुद्र में डाले जाते सभी डूब जाते। इससे वानर सेना में निराशा बढ़ने लगी। तब भगवान राम ने सागर से प्रार्थना शुरू की। सागर से कहा कि वह पुल निर्माण के लिए फेंके गए पत्थरों को बांधकर रखे। लेकिन सागर ने विनती नहीं सुनी।
